My Sephora Staples - Makeup + Skincare
See which new launches are now staples, what’s in my Sephora cart, spring wardrobe wishlist, reading + watching updates!!
Hi friends!! Happy Monday, I guess?
Honestly, I’m trying to focus on work and the funny memes to laugh to keep from crying, because the news is going to send me into an anxiety spiral from which I may never exit.
Which, speaking of— I’m officially kicking off my Substack chat so we can rant and rave all we like in a safe space. Join me there:
What’s in my cart for the Sephora Sale:
I am about to finish my mini of the Westman Atelier Contour Stick in Biscuit— which is my favorite bronzer ever. This contour is actually pretty neutral, and even has a slight red undertone, so it works better as a bronzer on fair neutral or cool toned skin. I reviewed Sofie Pavitt’s new Omega Rich Moisturizer here, and it’s a staple in my routine. It’s truly replaced the Tatcha Overnight Repair for me, which just got to be a bit too expensive even on sale, for my liking! And lastly, the Mandelic Serum also by Sofie Pavitt is a staple— it’s effective at keeping my pores clear, but also gentle enough on my rosacea.
I thought about adding another Merit lip liner in Bespoke, and decided to limit my cart, because *of everything.* I really want to try Givenchy’s newest pressed powder. I loved the OG formula and love a pressed powder, so it seems like the best of both worlds! They’re OOS in my shade, which is probably for the best!
My Sephora staples
Skincare:
I think most of you know by now, that I tend to gravitate to indie brands when it comes to skincare, and I am excited because a few of my favorites are now at Sephora (Sophie Pavitt + Violette_FR!!). Most of my absolute MUSTS for skincare aren’t sold at Sephora, but here are the products I always have in my routine, that are:

Makeup:
You may recognize a lot of these from my 2024 favorites (which are pinned at the top of my Instagram feed)— but there are some new things here that have become staples!

I recently picked up these white barrel jeans and cream colored shorts from Abercrombie. The downside to losing weight, is needing new pants every season!! My favorite cream jean shorts that I’ve had for years are officially too big, and same with my white jeans. I grabbed them both in a 29 and they were huge, so exchanged for a 28 in their curve love (I’m definitely not a size 28, so I feel like Abercrombie’s sizing keeps getting bigger!!). I did pick up this ecru + white striped Alex Mill sweater while it was on super sale at Bloomingdale’s. I am so into ecru + white this summer! I have it in black + white striped, and it’s 100% cotton but SO lightweight. I MUCH prefer it to the La Ligne Mini Marina which is also 100% cotton, but a super heavy sweater. I also found the same Alex Mill sweater on Poshmark in blue + white stripes for $30 in my size, and I grabbed it— what a steal!
Two things I have on my wishlist is this white + gold belt, which I think will look so good with white + cream pants/shorts this summer! Aureum Collective has become a favorite brand of mine— the quality of their belts is insane, and they’re truly pieces you’ll have in your closet forever. I don’t own any light colored belts, but I’ve been enjoying adding a few to my collection to spice up my outfits. I also really want a pair of these fisherman sandals by Freda Salvador, which have been on my wishlist since last spring. I have HUNTED every second hand place all year, and nothing turns up. Which means people are holding onto them, which is also a good sign. I can’t decide which color?! Help me!! They have a 20% sale starting this Thursday, 4/10.
The White Lotus (season 3) on MAX (show) - I can’t believe the season finale was last night. I am seeing a lot of mixed reviews, and without spoilers— I really enjoyed the finale. What did you think?
The Pitt (season 1) on MAX (show) - I can’t believe we only have one more episode! I have heard that season 2 has already been approved, and the 12 hour shift that is 12 episodes, will be during July 4th weekend (which I always hear is a shitshow in the ER between the fireworks and drunk activities/driving).
With Love, Meghan on Netflix (show) - I am about 2/3 through this series. It’s such a light, fun comfort watch. I can have it on in the background while I’m folding laundry or working, and it’s safe to have on with kids in the room.
Handmaid’s Tale (final season) on Hulu (show) - This is back tomorrow! I haven’t read the book, so I have no idea what the ending will be like, but I need some hope right now and that hope is tied to whether or not they can take down Gilead. I will be taking notes, ya feel me?
I just finished Abby Jimenez’s new Book, Say You’ll Remember me. I did a little recap in my stories over the weekend, but in case you missed it I will share my brief thoughts again, here. Abby is known for tackling real life, hard parts of the human experience, but she balances them with funny, witty banter, love and joy. Even with her heavier themes, I always feel happy reading her books. A lot of feet kicking. This book was a bummer. It was just too sad. The triggers are A LOT, and this poor couple deals with hit after hit. I remember hitting 45% and texting my friends who had just read it and saying wow, I just feel so bummed reading this book. When they’re finally happy, the ending is rushed and we never get to really experience their joy. I still gave it four stars, but it wasn’t the typical Abby I was looking forward to.
I just started Swept Away which is Beth O’Leary’s newest release, and I haven’t loved any of her previous books, but I keep trying. The premise of this one is interesting. After that, I have
’s book Wear It Well, which I am really excited about. And lastly, I just got an audiobook ARC for Emily Henry’s newest, Great Big Beautiful Life— which I’m hearing really mixed things about. I will keep you posted!!

I'm still recovering from the White Lotus finale. I'd read some theories that correctly guessed the outcome, but I was still surprised. I felt like the outcome of the three gal-pals felt really realistic though. He really understood that dynamic!
Thank you, as always, for the recs! Have you tried the Makeup by Mario SoftSculpt skin enhancer? It looks stunning on The Lipstick Lesbians and I am thisclose to pulling the trigger even though I absolutely don’t need it 😆
